Too Much Stuff 07/27/2011
Lots of things going on lately.... last week I finished a 10 week placement at eChalk, a compnay that makes educational resources for electronic whiteboards in schools, as a Flash animator/illustrator. It was a paid graduate placement through the GO Wales scheme, and despite the associated GO Wales paperwork, it was a great experience! I would definitely work there again if the opportunity arose. Also, my fiance is 32 weeks pregnant and had to go into hospital last night because of some issues with the pregnancy - she's home now, baby is all ok but we'll have to see the midwife soon and indications are that baby might be putting in an appearance early! Of course baby number 1 is still doing well, he's approaching 2 years old but is already well into the "terrible twos" stage XD Other than that I'm still producing as much artwork as I can, as the Artwork section shows! I'm also working on a very small piece of animation - stay tuned! Add Comment Storm! 04/09/2011
Remember I said that Kei and I did a little work on that Tim Minchin animation, Storm? Well the finished thing is now available on YouTube, and it looks great! So do yourselves a favour, click that link and go Like it :) HELLO 2011 01/16/2011
Back for another sporadic update! Some new stuff on here - a new image in the Character Design section, and some new stuff in the Illustration section. Also a new showreel! Well I say new, I made it in October and have only now uploaded it... also added a link to my Behance profile on the front page - yes, I'm giving that ago as well! In more exciting news, Storm - which I mentioned before - has been longlisted for a BAFTA! With any luck, it might get shortlisted. Stay tuned! Stormy Weather 10/24/2010
Been a bit busy moving lately, hence me forgetting to tell you about Storm. Storm is a 9-minute beat poem by the comedian Tim Minchin, which has now been made into a short animated film. The designers contacted my fiance a few months ago to ask her to provide some additional animation and design for the film, and eventually I got involved and did some cleanup too. The (almost) finished thing was premiered at TAM 2010 in London by Tim himself, last weekend. It looked really cool, and we got to meet Tim as well! So, with our names on the credits, I'm told that we will end up being listed on IMDB as well. At the moment only the trailer is available online, and creative team are in the process of entering it into various festivals. Work & Play 09/21/2010
Right! Some actual news! First off, I've had a bit of work over the last few months; two month's worth of Flash animation, on a project called Invasion of the Graffbots (which you can see on the Animation page), followed by a little development work for Turnip Starfish. Feels good to get some proper work done, in amongst the shitty part-time jobs I do every day! Also, Trolly Dollies has been accepted into the Flip Animation festival in Wolverhampton, so providing we get the screening copy off in time, we'll be able to see it in an actual festival. Which is cool :D And finally, in a couple of days, my son hits his first birthday! How awesome is that? I'm a father and everything.... wow..... Still Working 01/27/2010
Not a lot to say here, other than I added one (quite old) drawing to the sketch section, and I still really need a job. That's it. As you were. Updates 01/18/2010
Not much to report here - I've changed the Links section so that they are all neat little icons, changed the page layouts slightly, and updated my bio on the main page. I've also added one new picture to the Illustration section, which is frankly rubbish. Expect more work soon! In other news, the short film Trolly Dollies might be getting shown in London and, of all places, Slovenia. Will keep you updated on that one.... Modified 12/19/2009
The site work continues. Added a few more images (resized so they should load a little faster) and tidied up the comics page somewhat. Christmas is coming, rapidly, and as ever I am totally unprepared. As well as working my part time job and looking after the baby, I have one Christmas-themed commission to do, which is nice. Expect to see that when it's done! Still Working 10/24/2009
I'm still trying to mould this website into something halfway decent, having spent most of yesterday and this morning uploading more artwork and messing around with the layout. It doesn't help that I have to use the Weebly site editor, which is a special nightmare in itself (must learn to use Dreamweaver). New features on the site include that badge on the right that links to my LinkedIn profile, and the addition of Trolley Dollies, the short film I worked on, to the animations page. That's it I think. Today I will be mostly drawing and looking after the baby! Whoops 10/22/2009
Decided to play aroud with the layout of my site, and in doing so lost all my previous blog entries. Well, it's not as if there was anything interesting written there I guess. In any case, it was about time I uploaded some new artwork here; I see that weebly now also allows the uploading of .swf files, so perhaps I can include some of the Flash games I worked on at TMGC.... | ContainsUpdates, information, thoughts and speculation.
